Summary:
As they run her through the alleys on Denji’s back, Nayuta notices how everyone else seems to be moving on with their lives despite the Fire Devil’s attacks. Noticing that he might have school tomorrow, something clicks in Denji; the two still have to go back to their ordinary lives. He tells Pochita that he is extremely happy the way he is right now, only to step on a crow on the sidewalk.
Denji begins to converse with Pochita again, who celebrates that their dream has come true. He then asks Denji what dream they should fulfill next, confusing him. After receiving several suggestions, he admits that he wants to become Chainsaw Man again.
Denji and Nayuta return to reality and watch their apartment complex burn; their pets probably inside too. Rushing in to try and save them, Denji is tripped by Bar, who reveals that he did it to push him over the edge. He also taunts the boy by not only ignoring Asa because of how she and Denji barely know each other, but also because his pets seem to be much more flammable. Shocked and enraged, he goes to pull the releaser to retaliate, only for Barem to be shot multiple times by Fumiko and other members of Public Security. Just as he tells his colleagues to target the body parts used for his transformation trigger, the group is knocked down by a giggling Whip Hybrid.
