The anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man has been a hit, with the first two episodes arriving and making a name for the series in a crowded fall season. With the first season consisting of twelve episodes, there are a number of places where Denji’s story could end during the season finale. Based on the manga, we think Denji’s first crack at MAPPA and the story of his fellow devil hunters will end with the first season.

In the anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man, we’ve seen so far how Denji’s tragic story has resulted in the Shonen protagonist teaming up with his best friend Pochita, who just happens to be a chainsaw devil. With wild new powers at his disposal, he is found by the mysterious Makima, an agent of the government’s Devil Hunter branch, and given the choice of continuing to fight the devils as a hero or falling as one of the supernatural creatures. With the second installment introducing fans to the human Aki and the devil known as the Force, Denji’s life got a little more complicated.

Here are the spoilers

Based on the manga stories by creator Tatsuki Fujimoto, the first season of Chainsaw Man will most likely wrap up in an arc with a new character named Reze as part of the story focusing on the Bomb Devil and Denji’s war against the creature. This battle would have been the perfect place to end the first season over the course of twelve episodes, with the battle between the chainsaw man and the bomb fiend causing severe property damage and savage bloodshed.

Considering the level of animation that Chainsaw Man has, along with the countless other projects that MAPPA is working on, it’s not a big surprise that this first season has fewer episodes than many other series, even though it should come to an end. by focusing on the Bomb Devil battle, it will be one of the biggest season finales in anime history.
